My laser does not work / has been deactivated. How can I fix this? Unfortunately the laser on the Haier P5 is what's known as a 'class 3' device. This means that it is above the average laser output/strength (a standard keychain laser would be a class 1 while a supermarket scanner may be a class 2) Essentially this does not mean that a class 3 laser is particularly dangerous, but EU Standards Legislation prohibits the sale of class 3 lasers in the European Union. This means that all lasers on Haier P5's are deactivated and any retailer selling the P5 could be prosecuted. It is also for this reason that we cannot reactivate the laser on any of the P5 mobile handsets. Will my Haier P5 work abroad? Yes. The Haier P5 is a dual band mobile phone operating on the GSM 900/1800 networks. This means that you will have no problems owning and operating your phone in most countries (subject to your network coverage) The Haier P5 is not however a tri-band phone. This means that the handset will not operate on American (GSM 1900) networks. Countries using the GSM 1900 frequency include; Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Netherlands Antilles & Aruba (NB: Different from the Netherlands in Europe), Paraguay, Peru, Philippines & United States. Will my Haier P5 work on the new THREE networks? While technically the Haier Pen Phone handsets only run on the GSM900/1800 frequencies, they will also wok on the new 3G THREE network (GSM2100) - Customers are strongly advised to run Haier handsets on this network under their own discretion. As THREE are not retailing Haier handsets they have the ability to block IMEI numbers not on their approved lists. (NB: This only applies to THREE, and not to other UK networks) I need go get my Haier P5 repaired but I did not buy it from HaierMobiles.com Being an independent Haier mobile specialist, we will be happy to help you get your phone working again and source the necessary repairs / spare parts to fix your problems. Customers who are not covered by the HaierMobiles.com warranty will be required to pay an phone 'opening fee' and may be subject to charges for additional parts if required. NB: Because the Haier P5 is now discontinued, all P5 repairs are now carried out Primus Telecommunications who can be contacted by calling 0800 036 9886 asking for the support/warranty department My Haier P5 will not charge or switch on.
