Take a look at the comparison above. TV's? Speakers? What's this guy talking about. Well if you are using 2 speakers for your PC at the moment then you probably dont't have a clue. Let me explain…

Using 2 speakers for all your PC needs is fine, a few windows error sounds here and the suicidal music on web-pages sort-of-thing. But as soon as you start listening to CD's and playing with MP3's on your PC you need something more… "chunky"

Speaking as somebody who "saw the light" a few years ago now, I can honestly say that 5.1 Surround speakers makes your music so rich. It's the only way to describe it. Full-fat, creamy, succulent, juicy sound. Only this wont lead to a pseudo diet program and gym membership for a year (which, by the way you will only ever use once)

The Creative 5.1's are the standard for PC surround sound. Most PC manufacturers will offer this system on their top-spec. models and for a good reason. Its adequately priced, does the job very well, looks… like it should and its made by Creative. The only name in home PC sound.

We are using the 5300's with a Creative Audigy player for that little bit of extra cream, but its really not the card that makes the sound. Plug these things into you motherboard should hole and the results will be really quite similar. You don't need thousands of holes in the back of your computer to plug it all in. All the Satellites plug into the Sub allowing you to only place one cable into the sound card (and a power lead into the mains)

If you cant afford true 5.1's or the other half wont let you *ahem* then a 2.1 system will be adequate enough for those of you who get their portion of music from the stereo. You already have the 2 all that's needed is the .1 but the difference it will have on your PC experience is "well worth it"
